The drive was open not only to associates but to the public as well. Eighteen people donated, six of whom were first-time donors. The event collected enough blood to help 54 people. After coming inside the facility briefly to check in and grab a snack, participants headed onto the Red Cross bus for a nurse’s assessment and the actual donation.
Tracy Ell, admissions and marketing director, advertised the event throughout the facility and spoke about the drive at community engagements, while the Red Cross spread the word online, via phone calls and through emails.
“There is a great need for blood donations,” said Ell. “It’s wonderful to be able to hold these drives and serve our community.”
